So you’ve decided to do something about that rapidly declining hair line? Excellent! Making the decision was a life changing event for me and many others like me who I have helped through the process.

With that in mind, I’ve put together a list of questions I always make sure to recommend friends and family to ask their prospective doctor before getting the procedure. Remember, like any medical professional (especially those in the cosmetic fields), it doesn’t hurt to get second options, especially if you don’t like the answers you get to the following questions.

1) What is your specialty?

2) Are you "board Certified" by the ISHRS or ABHRS?

3) How many years experience in "hair restoration"?

4) How many hair restoration procedures have you performed?

5) Can you show me BEFORE & AFTER photos of your work?

(Your work, not the work of who knows who from the practice)

6) Will you give me the names of at least 3 patients, and ask them to call me?

So I started this blog because I've been working with a lot of hair restoration people, and I've been thinking more and more about my ever decreasing hairline.

Last year I tried propecia. I got off of it fairly quick, because I read that once you stop, all of the progress the propecia did goes away, and I didn't feel like being stuck with a 60 buck a month addiction for the rest of my life.

Now I've been told that the patent for propecia is going to expire soon. What does that mean? Cheap effective generics!
So....well I guess I can afford it, since my company reimburses prescriptions, and hopefully within a few years, I'll be able to switch to some sort of 25/month or less subscription.

Unfortunately it won't fix my crown, since propecia is only the front. With that in mind, I might get surgery.
